How climate change relates to the economy?

I see a bunch of people saying how we should worry about economy rather than socioeconomic and environment issues. There are people also saying that we are too busy trying to survive, so we should worry about the environment later — but I'll talk about that in another article.

In the past few days I've trying to think in a way to help our environment, without jeopardizing my income — because I'm not a wealthy person. I've been really stressed about that, 'cause I already struggle to have money for the whole month, I can't spend anywhere else.

Even though in this situation I find myself in, I know I'm privileged. That's due to the facts that I have water systems in my house, I have a house, actually that's already a good thing… But everything I've been through is showing me how much actually the environment is making the economy worse. Not the environment but neglecting it rather than treating the issues we have, and the most affected people are the economically disadvantaged people, like me and even sometimes people that have less than what I have.

Denial is one of the first symptoms when somebody deals with loss in general — being because someone died or they ended a relationship. The person usually tries to deny the truth. That's why there are a lot of people denying the fact the environment issues are important and they exist, as they do about COVID-19 which is killing a lot of people. That impacts, sometimes even stops our lives — I mean, the lives of people that lack of fortune. The loss here is ego. They don’t want to say they’re wrong, so they keep on their position even if it means hurting other people.

Why is that?

Plenty of people think the environment doesn’t affect economy, and they are all separated. Though that’s not true, misinformation causes great harm to every and each one of us.

How does the environment affects us economically?

Well, I don’t judge people who can’t understand this, but if you think about it. How are papers made? Or any source of material whatsoever? It comes from the environment! it gives us the resources we need, not only to survive, but also to have plenty of luxury I dare say.

Nature resources are essential for our survival and also for our leisure time, going to the park for instance. Once the environment is affected, everything that surrounds us is affected.

Our health depends on our planet: if our environment keeps being polluted, climate change comes — which already happened, then it impacts all the business being big or small, workers will suffer, they get sick, injuried, and not able to work being because it is too hot or too cold. There’s no balance. That’s already happening… so if for instance a sailer can’t work because they got sick, then who is gonna sell for the owner? Then the owner could have more money spend than acquired, therefore that harms our economy, so on…

That’s just an example of how that could harm us all. Of course, there are plenty of events that could occur there. But the focus here is, people who don’t have enough money to relieve the climate change happening, so they wouldn’t be able even, to survive. Less people, even less economy growth. Even the most poor person in the world helps the economy grow. Keep that in mind.

Besides all that social impact climate change has on us, there are particular issues it will cause to the richest of the men — even though for them is gonna take more time than to poor people, which is: the scarce of all natural resources, which one of them is essential to all of us, water. Scarce of water is already real in a lot of cities throughout the globe, it is not that difficult to happen to the whole world, it just will take time to happen.

Try to be aware in you day, if you’re using too much resources, that could mean you are taking from someone else. The world is a shared globe, so remember to share it.
